Who WE Are
Our Mission
Porte NOIRE Gardens is on a mission to strengthen the overall wellness of our rural community. We achieve this progressive goal by using the power of Arts & Agriculture as a unifier; bringing together people from all walks of life to connect, co-create, conserve, and cultivate.
Our Vision
We envision a thriving cultural sanctuary rooted in equity, shared experiences, sustainability, and community, where farming meets the arts, wellness meets spirituality, and every person feels seen, heard, and inspired.
Our Focus
Our work centers around cultivating a safe, vibrant space that reconnects people with nature, promotes cultural exploration and natural wellness, encourages creative expression and provides opportunities for leadership, skills building and economic sustainability.
We design community outreach programs and events that:
-
PROVIDE ACCESS
-
free or affordable access to social services and resources for our at-risk, underserved rural community.
-
-
EMPOWER youth and emerging leaders
-
through hands-on learning and mentorship
-
-
EDUCATE and TRAIN
-
bridge the gap for underrepresented communities in land stewardship and outdoor access
-
-
PROMOTE HEALTHY LIVING practices
-
Infuse cultural and holistic wellness into regenerative land-based practices
-
-
CELEBRATE DIVERSITY
-
through art, storytelling, food, and collective experiences
-
